Meet us before you decide anything
Whether the books are behind, the advice has dried up, or you just need the return done, there is a meeting for it.

I am looking for a new accountant
Two steps. A few questions first so we turn up knowing something about you, then a call to work out whether we are the right firm. If we are, that is when we book the proper meeting.

I just need my return done
No form first. Twenty minutes for wages, sixty with a rental. From $220.
You already know us. Pick the one you need.
No need to ring and ask which one. Pick the closest and we will sort the rest out when we talk.
Your yearly catch up
Thirty minutes on how the year actually went and what to change in the next one. No charge.
A quick question
Fifteen minutes on the phone. Tax, software, or a decision you are stuck on. If it turns into chargeable work we will say so at the time.
Tax planning
An hour before 30 June, while there is still time to change the number rather than just report it.
Trust distribution
Fifteen minutes to get the resolution right before 30 June. This one is a paid meeting.
What actually happens
No slide deck, and nobody will try to sign you up on the spot.
You tell us where things are at
What the business does, what is working, and what is keeping you up. If it is a mess, say so. You would not be the first and you will not be the last, and we would rather help you get caught up than talk about it.
We ask about where it is going
Staff, equipment, structure, whether you want to be bigger in three years or just want your weekends back. The answer changes the advice quite a lot.
We tell you what we would do
Specifically, and out loud, in the meeting. If the honest answer is that your current accountant is doing fine and you do not need us, that is what you will hear.
You get the price in writing
A quote, or a price band where the work depends on what we find, set against what you actually need rather than a standard list. Some jobs start with a deposit. We set the terms out in the meeting or in the follow up, then you go away and think about it.
We recently had an initial meeting with Clayton to discuss our accounting requirements. We found him very down to earth and knowledgeable and upfront with assessing our circumstance and providing information. The members of his team we dealt with were also great and we have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Clayton and his team!

Changing accountants is less painful than you think
This is the thing that stops most people, so here it is plainly. You do not have to have an awkward conversation with your current accountant. You do not have to collect anything.
We write to them, they send your records across, and that is the extent of your involvement. It is a professional courtesy between firms and it happens constantly. Most transfers are done inside a fortnight.
You are also not locked into anything by having a meeting. Plenty of people come in, hear what we would do, and stay where they are. That is a perfectly good outcome and it costs you nothing to find out.
What to bring
Nothing, if that is where you are at. Turn up and talk.
If you want to get more out of it, last year’s tax return and financial statements are the two most useful things. Access to your bookkeeping file helps too, if you have one. If you would rather share documents before we meet, we will send you a secure link rather than have you email anything sensitive.

Where you are coming to
Level 1, 561 Olive Street, Albury. Upstairs, with parking on the street. If stairs are a problem tell us when you book and we will meet you somewhere that is not.
If it is easier, we come to you, or we do it over video. Plenty of our clients we see mostly on a screen and it works perfectly well.
Questions before you book
Is the first meeting really free?
Yes. No charge, and no invoice afterwards for the conversation. We only charge once you have agreed a quote for actual work.
Do I have to come to the office?
No. We meet plenty of people over video, and we visit clients on site regularly. If you would rather we came to your workshop or your kitchen table, say so when you book.
I am not a business, just an individual return. Can I still book?
Yes, and you are welcome. Book the 20 minute tax return meeting instead. A lot of our business clients started exactly there.
My books are a disaster. Is that a problem?
It is the normal situation, not the exception. Bring it as it is. We would much rather see the real state of things than a tidied up version that hides where the work actually sits.
What does it cost after that?
Depends on the work, and you will get a fixed quote before anything starts. What we will not do is start work and send you a bill you did not expect.
Not sure which one you are?
Most people who sit down with us already have an accountant. If that is you, start here and we will work out the rest.
