Get clear on the customers you want more of

Answer ten minutes of practical questions and get back a written description of the customers you want more of, what matters to them, and how to describe your business clearly. Free, and yours to keep whether you ever work with us or not.

We built this because the same thing keeps coming up in business planning. Owners know exactly which customers they want more of, and have often never put it into words anyone else could use.

What this is, honestly. For most business owners, bringing in a marketer sits well down the list, behind the work, the staff and the cash flow. That is usually the right call at the time. The result is often a description of the business that was written years ago and has not been looked at since.

This is a practical starting point, not expert marketing advice. It organises what you already know about your customers, so check what comes out against your own experience before you use it. It will not be perfect, but it gives you something useful to start from.

What to do with it once you have it

  1. Give it to anyone who writes for you. Staff, a designer, whoever built your website. That is what stops three people describing the business three different ways.
  2. Give it to AI before you ask for anything. If you use ChatGPT for a web page, an email or an ad, paste this in first. It changes what comes back more than any prompt wording will.
  3. Check every number that comes out of AI. It invents statistics, reviews and customer quotes that sound convincing and are not true. Never publish a figure or a quote you cannot verify yourself.

What it does, and what it does not do

It asks structured questions, organises your answers, and runs mechanical checks on writing you paste in. Every conclusion it reaches is a count or a match, and everything it hands back is assembled from what you typed.

It does not write for you and it does not advise you. It does not know your market or your competitors, and it cannot tell you whether your positioning is right. What comes out is your own thinking, organised.

Business Edge Advisors does not warrant that the output is complete, accurate or suitable for any particular purpose. Nothing here is marketing, legal, financial or tax advice, and using it does not make you a client of Business Edge Advisors.

If you would rather talk it through

Working out which customers you want, what they value, and where that fits in your business plan is part of what we cover in Planning 4 Success. You spend a day with twenty non-competing businesses and leave with a practical ninety day plan. If this raised more questions than it answered, that is the room for it. Or just book a time and we will go through what you got.

Ready when you are.
